Expressing your views about a particular topic has always been a hard thing to do. Even if it’s a fundamental right, we always have the lack of complete virtue to express it or to show it to someone as a vision. Then came “The Cinema”, a platform that allows us to express everything or anything wrong that we want to remove from the society.

Cinema had an influence on the society when it was introduced and it still has so, mainly focused on to the young generation and the conditions are currently favorable to the cinematic cause because now that countries have started sharing their culture with the other cultures of the world cinema is the link which helps someone differentiate or find something common in each other’s culture.

Cinema is not always about culture sharing. Nowadays a different cause is also visible in the stream of cinema. It has now stared developing ideas motivating the generation it targets the most, making people believe in themselves by movies like 3 Idiots, and Udaan. Cinema is not only motivating people to believe in themselves but also gives them a look into a different life into a world of a sportsman or an important personality which gives us an example of the struggle that they went through to become what they have become today. Movies like M.S.Dhoni , Sachin, a billion dreams , Bhagh Milkha Bhagh are some excellent examples of this category.

Criticism is what came to cinema after its popularity but one thing that we always forget about cinema is that every coin has 2 sides but cinema was never meant to show the second, the negative one. The criticism that cinema faces is only due to the fact that people are the one who have control of what they want to choose. Some take the positivity as an extract from the movies but there are also some who are at the wrong side of the track.

The only thing that is to be said to them is “you made your decision and now it’s time for the decision to influence you.”

Are schools and colleges all about getting grades, or is it about ‘learning’?

Is School about learning about the high-brow wonders of Nietzsche and the French Revolution? Becoming an educated member of society? Or was Mark Twain right when he said:

I’ve never let my schooling interfere with my education.

What do we mean when we’re say “getting grades” or “focusing on right or wrong answers”?

Well part of the reason for attending college and going through a degree program is to receive some sort of accreditation to prove that you know something about a certain amount of knowledge. You holding your diploma in your hand is not just a photo-op moment with your proud parents marking a transition into the next phase of your life, it’s also the moment you become recognized for having learnt the fundamentals. Let’s say civil Engineering, so now you can take that diploma back home and go in search of a real-life bridge-building engineering position at URS Corp., or HDR etc. You’ve proven yourself to the occupational or the professional world. So how do we know you know what you claim you know? By conducting some sort of evaluation or some metric of performance or maybe a grade on a test perhaps. If you’re going to college with something like that as your end-goal, focusing on getting the right answers and scoring well in exams is an absolute must. And in most technical degree programs, there is a definitive body of knowledge, whether in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, that you need to master, which does have a set of “right” answers as currently agreed upon by the worldwide science community.

Okay, with that out of the way, let’s move on to the “learning” aspect.

Well I think here people are talking about having an educated life, working towards a higher-level human-interest-driven pinnacle of intellectual achievement, being sophisticated and fluently expressing views on politics, philosophy etc. First of all is this really something we want to strive for, or has the education we are searching for has been co-opted by the academic community? I may not know much about the whole sophisticated part but becoming an all-rounder is a must. This means you can relate to people, you can have a general conversation, and you can logically navigate real world problems, it’s not just about manipulating numbers and designing variables. Yes, being educated is very important and learning about history, philosophy etc is a part of it but should this be our main focus of our time dedicated towards our degree program? Should this even need to occur at a university? Learning and being educated is the most important thing in our lives as it is giving you a vehicle to fully experience your life. 

The thing is, we do this naturally, and I don’t agree that college is the best medium to fulfill this essential life skill. I definitely agree that grades are very important if you want to be an intellectual or an academician, but I generally feel the main learning happens outside the classroom by reading interesting books, exploring side projects. Grades should be our primary focus but there’s a way to do it, if you get your grades first and foremost, and do it efficiently, then there will be an abundance of time for you to explore reading, side projects, research opportunities, clubs, sports, co-ops and internships, etc. For you to “learn” in the truest sense of the word which also by no means stops when you exit college if you do it right. So follow Mark Twain, get your “schooling” taken care of, and you’ll have plenty of time to get your “education”. So my dear all, we must strive better to be an educated person rather than just being a literate one.

WINDOW ASIDE

Once I was looking back through my window aside,

It sailed me to a place, where I always desired to go and fly.

But there were some distressing hurdles which appeared in front of my eyes,

So, I thought not to give up and always try, try and try.

Eyeing at the trees I heard the birds crying,

The intention behind was their stucking life.

The tweeting have wiped out for a long time,

So that gave me a situation to help them or leave them behind.

Going bottomless, I saw the lake magnificent bright,

So I thought being a fish, which will give me bliss in life.

But swiftly I saw a creep running behind,

So I supposed, how could the fish be alive?

The hurdles which were upsetting my life,

I thought to give up or die. 

But seeing the birds and fish made me realize,

To shut the window and start a fresh life.

SUCCESS MANTRA FOR A STUDENT

No significant learning takes place without a successful relationship and there cannot be a better relationship for the learning other than the Student-Teacher relationship. Education is based upon the two important pillars, one a student and other a teacher. A true and sound education can flourish only when the student-teacher relationship is positive, coherent and going in a right direction. It is like a two way traffic through which the destination of Education which is learning and development is achieved. Success of a student is based upon the three important factors---- student’s own hard work and dedication, teacher’s role in imparting education and the parents’ and school’s role to provide the essential financial, emotional and environmental support to their ward. The success of a student can be compared to a triangle of success, in which student, teacher and parents and external environment form the three sides and the student is not merely a side, but the very base of this triangle without which it cannot be formed.

Now, the question may arise that are these factors sufficient enough to make a child successful. The answer to this question is that a student who sets his goals and ambitions, strives hard for them throughout life until and unless he achieves them, dedicates his soul and breath for his success, pays due attention to what his teachers say and always tries to follow them, respects them and give them a divine place in his life, emulates their positive qualities and never argues badly or never shows any sort of arrogance actually paves his way to be a successful being in life. A student has to be an all-rounder and not a book-worm to be successful. He must participate in physical and other co-curricular activates like sports, games, gymnastics, dramatics, debate or any sort of competitions. He has to be always on his toes to accept the challenges and to face them with a lion’s heart. Then only he can be an impressive teacher, a doctor, an I.A.S officer, a good politician or else a scientist and make his nation proud by his excellent contribution towards it.

Trying is Better than Crying

What do we all often do when the situation is really challenging and gigantic ahead? Well, I believe each one of us has a different answer to this question on an individual level. Some would let the things come and go as it is without putting in any effort, keeping their fingers crossed for the God to do some wonders for them. Some would cry and exaggerate their sorrows to expel their burden and exhibit to the world; probably they are attention seekers. But, there are a few who try not to cry but overcome their hurdles. They are the ones who add a difference not only to their but the lives of others as well.

Undoubtedly, it is better trying than crying as trying and crying signifies winning and losing respectively and the difference in the two is most often not quitting.

Life is a journey with all the things transient in nature. Nothing is permanent except the change. Every bright sunny morning is followed by deep, dark, dense night. Every colorful spring has to face a dull autumn as well. Similarly every success story has a fall of failure.

 But, failure doesn’t mean that one should drown himself in the ocean of hues and cries as failure is not ultimate, just like success is not final.

It is the indomitable willpower and the courage to continue no matter what. It is what something that counts.

One must understand that no mistake or failure is as bad as to stop and not to try again. We must keep in mind that no dream has an expiry date. Failure doesn’t mean that the game is over. It means to try again a fresh with an experience added to it. What the world needs today are strong minds who can tackle situations to the highest order, who don’t fret the failures though they seem to be more public than success.

Remember, seeds of defeat are actually sown during the act of winning, whether it is a sporting encounter or a personal feud, because the losers are already getting together and planning their next move, their comeback, so that they can regain their lost glory. It is only a matter of time before the tables are turned, before the tide is reversed, and the winner is on the losing side.

Thus believe in your ability and the possibility of your goals as it is the bedrock to motivate you. It also provides you with incredible strength to overcome difficulties and make dreams come true.

 It’s well proven that though a person is unable to go to the end of the road, keep trying will make his life better.

So keep trying and stop crying as trying is better than crying. Well said by Samuel Beckett that “Ever Tried, Ever Failed, No matter what, Try again, Fail again, Fail better.

What would a sporty child want in a school?

The answer is: a basking pool, sizeable spaces, vociferous, tough tug of wars, extravagant events, marathon maniacs and celebrations of true talents.

What would a studious child want in a school?

The answer is: individual attention, unflinching advice, career counselling, requisite confabulations, privileged classrooms and fervent, missionary, competent teachers!

What would a creative and fun loving child want in a school?

The answer is: beckoning lawns, neighing, quacking denizens, embellished edifices, musical equipments, aesthetic locales and unique artistic inspiration all over!

SIGNIFICANCE OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT

Children constitute a nation’s future human resources. It is, therefore, very important that their welfare receives the highest importance in the society.

The development of children should receive crucial attention particularly in Indian scenario as they constitute nearly 34 per cent of the total population. This is the most sensitive and vulnerable period of life. The foundations of their future are laid at this stage. Obviously, the foundation must be stable and strong.

The great Indian economist Amartya Sen reminds us, “ You reap what you sow and you don’t reap what you don’t sow” Now it is the time to sow properly the future of this great Indian nation by investing properly in children.

As far as their development is concerned “ Development refers to a process of change in growth and capabilities over time, as function of both maturation and interaction with the environment”. Thus development of a child includes:-

·        Growth

·        Capability

·        Maturation

·        Interaction with the environment.

Thus, the development of children is a series of orderly progression of change towards maturity. ‘Orderly’ refers to the arrangement of the changes.

Development of the Whole Child

Infact,the goal of child development is to enable him to lead a most satisfying life in the environment in which he lives. A child is believed to be a gift of God. He must be nurtured with care and affection within the family and the society to get the best out of him. As a parent or teacher we should try our best to get this best out of a child and make his process of progress smooth, easy and effective.
