Dear Future Me,
I hope this letter finds you well and thriving—living up to the vision I've always hoped you would achieve. Right now, I'm navigating a tough phase, recovering from injuries that have slowed me down both physically and academically. Yet, I’m holding onto hope, believing that with resilience, I will bounce back and reclaim the confidence and abilities I once had.
Today, I realize how much I lean on you, my future self, for strength and reassurance. While sometimes it feels like I should seek support from others, I’m learning that the person I truly need to rely on is myself. You are the person I am building, brick by brick, through every struggle and every small victory.
Life feels challenging at the moment—my performance has dipped, and the path ahead seems daunting. But I trust that if I set the right conditions now, the future will brighten. Remember: success isn’t measured only in money. True success lies in earning respect, staying humble, acting with integrity, and being someone whom others can trust.
Looking back, I used to be a “jack of all trades, but master of none.” I now understand the importance of narrowing my focus. In the future, commit yourself deeply to two or three things that truly matter, while letting other passions be your hobbies. This is how you’ll build expertise, fulfillment, and a meaningful life.
This letter is my promise to you: I am going to invest time and effort into becoming the best version of myself. Please, do not let this hard work go in vain. Honor my determination and the sacrifices I’m making now by continuing to grow, stay true to your values, and never lose sight of kindness and humility.
I may be out of words for now, but I’m leaving you with my trust and hope. Make me proud, and keep striving—no matter what comes your way.
With hope and determination,
Your Past Self
Heenam Camdir Teli (VIII A)
