LIFE IN A BOARDING SCHOOL - AN EMOTIONAL TOUCH

When a student’s eyes look for your presence in a hope that you will ask for his day’s activities, enquire about what he ate, how many marks did he or she score in a test and many more such questions, establish a strong connection between you and your student as a teacher. This gives you the wholesome feeling that you are in the holy process of making a human being the way he or she should be. Engineers and scientists are proud of their technological advancements and inventions, doctors boast of the medical advancement but we, the teachers humbly get satisfaction in grooming a student as a good human being who will do all good things in favor of mankind. The students are aimed for overall personality development with discipline, knowledge, and patriotism. Manners and etiquettes practiced by students in the school become an integral part of their lives in a boarding school and elsewhere in the outside world. I would suggest all the parents opt for a day boarding school for the overall development of their child since it really makes a child self-dependent in respect and in all the aspects of life. Some of the main advantages are-

Self-reliance

Boarding school students quickly learn how to perform many domestic chores and complete school assignments by themselves. They become experts at managing their time, money and resources. These students mature quickly and tend to be very independent and successful in college and life.

Fewer Distractions

Boarding school students can focus better on their studies because television, video games, phones, and other distractors are limited. These young scholars usually perform better academically because they live in an environment that is conducive to learning.

Cultural Diversity

Boarding school students live and attend classes with people from a variety of cultures; therefore, they learn to appreciate and respect the differences in one another and live amicably. Some may even learn the basics of another language as a result of the friendships they form.

Character building

Boarding school students are known to graduate with exceptional character and demeanor. They reside in a community where traits such as honesty, respect, and hard work are valued and emphasized. These pupils have a moral advantage.

Alternative Activities

Boarding school students are often exposed to a wider range of activities to broaden their learning. They may participate in common sports and activities, such as football and band, or less conventional ones, such as Horse Riding, martial art, etc.

Fluency in Another Language

Students whose first language is not English often become fluent in English in two semesters through language immersion. Those who stay in a boarding school for at least three years typically become bilingual as they can read, write and speak two languages.

Bilingual students possess a valuable skill that gives them a significant advantage in the domestic and international workforce. Studies have also shown that they generally score higher on standardized tests and demonstrate greater problem-solving skills.
