"Spider-Man", a name heard by all but understood by none. The neighbourhood-friendly Spider-Man is not just a cool superhero with powers; he is the epitome of responsibility. The phrase, "With great power comes great responsibility," is a well-said phrase that fits perfectly both in his world and ours simultaneously. Spider-Man may be a superhero from the outside, but on the inside, he is just a teenager like many of us who just wants to enjoy his leisure moments with the people he loves and cares about. But, to the contrary, he is busy upholding the peace in his city. As there is a constant threat, there is a constant need for a kind superhero who deals with these threats. Similarly, in our world too, there may not be people with superpowers or great strength, but there are individuals who put forward other people's desires without considering whether it may have an adverse effect on them or not. They just put others before themselves and still live their lives unaffected.
These people, just like our hero Spider-Man, have to go through multiple sacrifices and yet put up a happy front, preventing other people from sensing their grief. People like these don't always want to be this way, but the sense of responsibility they feel towards others who are helpless themselves does not allow them to give up on others, even if they want to someday. Most of these types of people live two lives: one for the world and one which they desire. However, the life which is lived for the world is considered much more important compared to the life these people desire for themselves, so much so that they tend to overlook the happiness, joy, and love that they deserve as the price for helping everybody, every time.
Shifting to Spider-Man, his sacrifices and dual-life crisis go beyond what any adult could handle, let alone a mere teenager. Yet, he decides to make the necessary sacrifices required by the moment. He lost his Uncle Ben, aunt, parents, friends, love, and even his true identity, but still, he puts on the mask and helps everybody/anybody whenever he can. The mere thought of considering your very existence wiped off the Earth's face is a horrifying thought in itself, but he accepted it to save the world from great calamity.
The life of even a complete superhero is not easy; he/she, or even a normal human, is faced with an unimaginable number of dilemmas every day: "Whether to go to that place or not?", "Whether helping him is worth it or not?", "Whether lending a hand to unthankful people is good or not?", and much, much more. However, even after these many questions and dilemmas, the end result of being kind and helpful—even if nobody acknowledges it—provides an immense feeling of joy and pride in oneself. For this reason, fictional heroes like Spider-Man, as well as actual heroes in real life, tend to forget themselves in the process of helping others.
In conclusion, Spider-Man may not be real, but the values and lessons he teaches us are very real and apply to the real world just as much as to their respective superhero worlds. Hence, "With great power comes great responsibility," and the one who is ready to take up this responsibility is the actual superhero, whether he or she has any superpowers or not.
