EVEREST BASE CAMP – A Journey to Reckon With

There are some journeys that remain in your memory forever, not because they were easy, but because they changed the way you see yourself. My journey to Everest Base Camp was one such experience.

I am Ashwin Azad, a student of The Mann School, Delhi, and I feel deeply grateful to my school for giving us the opportunity to undertake this incredible adventure. What once felt like an impossible dream slowly became reality the moment I landed at Lukla Airport. I still remember my heart racing faster than the sound of the airplane engine as I stepped into the world of towering mountains and icy winds.

From the very beginning, the trek felt magical. We walked through beautiful villages, each with its own charm and personality. Phakding welcomed us with calm, flowing streams and peaceful surroundings. Namche Bazaar was lively and energetic, filled with trekkers and local culture. Tengboche brought a sense of calm and spirituality, while Dingboche and Lobuche stood quietly amidst the harsh mountain terrain. Every stop felt like entering a completely different world.

Of course, the journey was not easy. There were days when my legs ached terribly, and every step felt heavier than the last. The high altitude tested both my physical and mental strength. At times, I honestly doubted whether I could continue. But the mountains always had a way of rewarding us. Just when exhaustion took over, something beautiful would appear—a line of yaks crossing the trail, colourful birds flying through the forests, or a deer disappearing into the hills. Those little moments made the struggle worthwhile.

Finally, after days of trekking, we reached Gorakshep and then Everest Base Camp. By then, I was completely exhausted, yet overwhelmed with emotions. Standing there amidst the snow, silence, and gigantic walls of ice was a feeling beyond words. In that moment, I realised that this journey was never just about reaching a destination. It was about perseverance, friendship, courage and discovering the strength hidden within oneself.

The Everest Base Camp trek taught me that sometimes the hardest paths lead to the most unforgettable experiences. It reminded me that we are capable of much more than we think, especially when we keep moving forward despite fear and exhaustion.

This journey will always remain one of the most meaningful chapters of my life.

My Magical Book

One morning, I opened my desk and found a bright, glowing book that I had never seen before. As soon as my fingers touched the cover, I felt a little spark of energy. I realized this wasn't a normal school book; it was a real magic book made just for me. When I whispered a question to it, the pages started to turn all by themselves until they landed on the perfect answer.

Whenever I felt bored, the book would show me moving pictures of deep oceans or far-off planets. If I had a tricky math problem to solve, the numbers would dance around the page and turn into a fun game.

I kept the magic book in my backpack, and it felt like having a best friend with me all day long. It didn't need any charger, just my imagination to make it work. Every time I opened it, a new adventure began right there at my desk. My magic book turned every day into a surprise, and I knew that with it in my hands, I could learn how to do anything in the world.

Life in 2050: Tech vs. Nature

When we think about the future, we usually imagine robots, AI, and super advanced technology. We picture 2050 as a world full of massive skyscrapers and AI machines working everywhere—in malls, shops, and airports. We even imagine robots as our teachers!

But AI and robots aren't the only things that will change our lives. We also need to think about the environment. Pollution is increasing every day, and it will be very harmful to us in the future. Because of all the tall buildings and skyscrapers, there will be fewer trees, which means less oxygen for us to breathe.

We think our lives will be easier because of AI, but if robots do all the work, what will happen to us? There is a high chance that humans won't get enough opportunities or jobs. Our lives might be simpler, but we won't have much to do. We should find a way to control AI and robots from now on, so that humans still have opportunities while still getting help from technology.

To make sure our future is bright, we need to focus on 'Sustainable Technology.' This means building cities that have space for both computers and gardens. We should use AI to solve big problems, like cleaning the oceans or inventing better solar power, rather than just letting it take over human jobs. If we start planning today, we can create a 2050 where robots are our helpers, but nature is still our home.

Growing up: My Journey to Middle School

My name is Aadhvan Sharma, and I am in Class V B. I started my journey at The Mānn School in Pre-school. I have spent seven wonderful years in the Primary School.

I still remember my first day when my parents brought me to school. I was a little nervous, but my first teacher, Narinder Ma’am, welcomed me with a warm smile. That made me feel happy and comfortable. Since then, many teachers have taught me with love and care. I respect and thank all of them because they are the ones who laid the foundation of my education. They helped me learn and grow.

I have many special memories from Primary School. I remember the first time I became the monitor in Class III. I also felt very proud whenever I got a medal for standing first in class. One of the most special moments was saying the pledge in our last Primary School morning assembly.

I also share a special bond with our Headmistress, Dr Nidhi Dewan. I am very thankful to her for giving me the chance to become the Primary School Vice-Captain (Boys). She always encouraged me to do my best.

On 28 February 2026, we had our Graduation Ceremony. That day, I realised that I would soon be moving to Middle School. I had mixed feelings. I felt sad because I would miss my teachers, friends, and all the lovely memories. My Primary School feels like my second home.

At the same time, I am also excited to enter Middle School. I will meet new teachers, learn new subjects, and make new friends. I know it may be a little challenging, but I am ready for it.

Now I understand that growing up means accepting changes and moving forward in life. I am ready to start this new journey with confidence and a smile.

My Boarding School Journey: Learning to Be Independent

My name is Rudra Prakash, and I study in Class 5B. I am a boarding student living in Tulip Home at The Mānn School. Today, I want to share my experience about how boarding school has helped shape my character and changed my life.

I was scared before joining the school as I relied on my parents for everything. But I want to admit that our school has changed me completely. Now I have become independent, confident, creative and always eager to participate in co-curricular activities enthusiastically.

Living away from home requires us to manage our daily routines right from personal hygiene to making our bed or organising our things in the cupboards. One of the most interesting parts of boarding school is meeting students from different parts of India and even other countries. Living together with students from diverse backgrounds helps us learn about different cultures, traditions, and ideas.

Sometimes, boarding life also brings challenges, such as academic pressure, small disagreements with friends, or adjusting to a new environment. But these experiences make us stronger. We learn how to solve problems, stay calm, and support one another.

Boarding school also gives us the freedom to explore our interests. I now participate enthusiastically in many co-curricular activities, which has helped me become more creative and confident. As a result, my teachers considered my qualities suitable for the post of ‘Primary School- Captain (Boys)’.

In my opinion, my journey in our boarding school has taught me many valuable lessons, and I believe it is truly helping me grow into a better and stronger person.

My Memorable First Assembly

My first assembly in the senior school was a very special and memorable day for me. I was excited but also a little nervous because it was my first time speaking in front of senior students. My heart was beating fast, but I really wanted to do my best. I had also practised my lines many times at home and in school to prepare myself well. My parents and teachers encouraged me, which gave me more confidence.

That day, I woke up early and got ready for school. I revised my script once again before leaving home. However, I got a little late and was worried that I might miss the assembly. I hurried to school and felt very relieved when I reached on time.

The theme of the assembly was “Namami Gange,” which was about saving and respecting our holy river Ganga. It was an important and meaningful topic. I was given the responsibility of comparing the assembly. When I went on the stage, my hands were shaking and I felt nervous, but soon I took a deep breath, smiled, became confident, and spoke clearly.

As the assembly went on, I started enjoying myself on the stage. Seeing everyone listening carefully made me feel happy and proud. I learned that confidence grows when we face our fears and believe in ourselves.

After the assembly, the Headmaster Sir and other teachers appreciated me for being confident. Their kind and encouraging words made me feel very proud and happy. My friends also smiled at me and congratulated me, which made the day even more special. When I returned to my class, I felt relaxed and satisfied.

I am really thankful to my teachers for preparing me and giving me this wonderful opportunity. This assembly taught me to be brave and believe in myself. It will always remain a beautiful and unforgettable memory for me.

My Journey as the Horse-Riding Captain

My journey to becoming the Horse-Riding Captain began with my deep love for horses and my eagerness to learn. The more I rode, the more my passion grew. I still remember the day I came to this school for admission. I was very excited when I saw the horses, and that was one of the main reasons I chose this school. At that time, I never imagined that I would one day become the Horse-Riding Captain.

While learning to ride, I fell many times, but I never gave up. Each time I fell, I got up quickly and tried again. Horse riding is one of the greatest achievements of my school life at The Mānn School. Although I started riding only after joining this school, with the guidance of our teacher, Bharat Sir, I became a confident rider within just two years. Riding helped me build confidence and made me feel free and relaxed.

After nearly five years, I became the first girl to participate in the Annual Horse Show and take part in show jumping. Even before I realised it, I had started motivating my juniors to try horse riding, cantering and jumping. Seeing them gain confidence and show the same enthusiasm that I once had made me feel proud to be their captain.

As a result of my efforts and dedication, I was awarded Best Rider of the Year 2025–26, an honour I will cherish forever. Horse riding may seem scary at first, but once you learn it, it becomes a source of pride and joy. The true success of my journey lies in knowing that my perseverance, discipline and love for riding made my parents proud. Their faith in me turns every fall into a lesson and every victory into a responsibility to keep growing.

AFTER MY CLASS XII

Right now, being in Class 12, feels like standing at the edge of something big. Every day revolves around books, notes, and revision plans, and the pressure of board exams is always at the back of my mind. Some days are exhausting, filled with self-doubt and late-night study sessions. Other days, I feel confident and motivated, reminding myself that this struggle is temporary and each ounce of effort is contributing to something big.

What keeps me going is the thought that school life is finally coming to an end. After spending so many years following routines, bells, and rules, the idea of moving on feels both scary and exciting, so much so that it can be hard to fathom at times. Board exam is not just about marks for me; it represents growth, efforts, and the courage to step into a new phase of life.

The thought of college life fills me with excitement with an underlying feeling of nervousness, which is quite natural. I look forward to meeting new people, learning independently, discovering who I really am and take a leap towards my goal in life. College feels like a place where experiences matter as much as academics. For now, I am giving my best to ace these exams, knowing that every page I study is bringing me closer to a future full of freedom, learning, and unforgettable moments. The mere thought of bidding adieu to Alma mater sends chills down my spine, hence I would never  like to miss any opportunity to revisit the nostalgic memory lanes of my dear Alma mater, The Mann School.

Swimming: Built by the Water

Swimming has never been just a sport for me. It is the place where I have grown, struggled, learnt, and found myself. Some of my earliest and most important lessons have come not from classrooms, but from the quiet hours spent in the pool. Over time, the water has become my anchor and my coach, teaching me that effort matters and that consistency, more than talent, is what truly shapes you.

What I love most about swimming is how honestly it treats you. In the water, your entire body works together. Every stroke needs coordination, strength, and balance. There is no hiding from the effort. Some days feel light and smooth, while others feel heavy and exhausting, but every lap adds something. Slowly, without you even noticing, endurance builds, confidence grows, and your body becomes stronger. Swimming has taught me patience and respect for the process.

Beyond the physical side, swimming has shaped my mindset. Learning to control my breathing during difficult sets and races, has helped me stay calm under pressure. There are moments in the pool when quitting feels easier than continuing, and choosing to push through those moments has taught me resilience. Those lessons follow me outside the pool, into my studies and everyday challenges.

As a Class XII student, life often feels fast and overwhelming. Swimming gives me a sense of balance. The rhythm of the water helps quiet my thoughts and clear my head. After a swim, I feel lighter, more focused, and ready to face whatever comes next. It reminds me that slowing down can sometimes make you stronger.

Balancing training with academics has not been easy, but it has made me disciplined and organised. Early mornings, strict routines, and tired evenings have taught me the value of commitment. Swimming has shown me that progress is not about sudden breakthroughs, but about showing up every day, even when motivation is low.

In the end, swimming is much more than exercise for me. It is where I learnt self-belief, patience, and strength. As a student and a national level swimmer, swimming continues to inspire me to face life’s challenges with confidence and purpose. Built by the water, I carry its lessons with me, wherever I go.

From Stress to Confidence: My Class 10 Board Preparation

As a Class 10 student, the approach of board examinations brings a lot of stress and anxiety. The syllabus feels vast, time feels limited, and the constant importance given to boards makes the pressure even heavier and more intense. No matter how much I study, I often feel underprepared and worried about my performance in examinations.

When my school announced winter classes, my first reaction was hesitation. The winter break feels like the only chance to rest, and honestly, laziness also plays a part. Waking up early on cold mornings and attending classes does not sound appealing at all. However, after joining the classes, I slowly realise how helpful they are and how they are helping me revise the chapters.

The winter classes provide a proper routine and clear direction to my preparation. Teachers revise important chapters, clarify doubts, and guide us on how to approach questions effectively. Studying in a classroom environment helps me stay focused and disciplined, which is difficult to achieve while studying alone at home. The regular tests being taken also help me track my performance.

Gradually, my fear of exams has started reducing. Regular revision and constant support from teachers have enhanced my confidence. Concepts that once seem difficult are becoming clearer, and I am beginning to trust my preparation and my right decision of attending the winter camp.

In the end, this phase has taught me that stepping out of my comfort zone and overcoming laziness is necessary during important times. The winter classes not only improve my preparation but also help me handle exam stress better. This experience is becoming an important and memorable part of my Class 10 journey.

More Than Just a Language: My Journey with German Classes

Sometimes, a class becomes much more than a subject—it becomes a beautiful memory. My German classes at school are one such experience that I will always cherish.

It all began one day when we were informed about German language lessons and were invited to give our names if we were interested. I was immediately excited and wrote my name without a second thought. I never imagined how special this decision would turn out to be.

Our German classes were held during the 5th and 6th lessons, and they were taken by Mr Joachim Keferstein, a teacher who made learning truly enjoyable.

Mr Joachim Keferstein, former Head of Department in the NRW Ministry of Education, Germany, where he was responsible for secondary schools, European schools, and UNESCO schools. Despite his vast experience and international stature, Sir was extremely humble, warm, and friendly with all of us, which made learning German a joyful experience.

Although I missed the first class and found it difficult to understand the second one, Sir’s patience, encouragement, and positive attitude motivated me to keep trying. He never made us feel afraid of making mistakes and always inspired us to do better.

With regular practice and Sir’s constant guidance, we gradually became more confident. One day, Sir announced that we would prepare a skit in German. He selected five students and trusted me with the role of a teacher. His belief in me gave me immense confidence. We practised several times, and even when Sir had to travel to Shimla, he made sure we were well prepared by sending us voice messages to help improve our pronunciation. This showed how deeply he cared about our learning.

On the day of the skit, I was nervous but determined to give my best. After the performance, Sir announced that he would award the titles of 'Best Girl’ and ‘Best Boy’ in front of our respected Principal Sir and HM Sir. I had no expectations, so when Sir announced my name as the 'Best Girl in the German Class', I was overjoyed and proud. To make the moment even more special, Sir gifted me a sports jersey of the famous German footballer Müller, which I will always treasure.

Mr. Keferstein did not just teach us a language; he shared stories about his family, culture, and life, making every class lively and meaningful. Learning from him was a truly mesmerising experience. As a warm farewell, he even arranged a small party for all the German students in the school mess, which showed his affection and connection with us.

I am very sure that I will miss him a lot. Mr. Keferstein has left a lasting impact on me and has inspired me to continue learning German. I hope that one day I will visit Germany and meet him again. This journey has taught me that a great teacher can turn learning into a lifelong memory.

My Experience at the 37th Celebration of Excellence

The 37th Celebration of Excellence in our school was one of the most enticing events I have ever been part of. This year felt even more special because the Chief Guest was Ambassador Dr Deepak Vohra, and everyone in the school was talking about how important this day would be. I was happier because I gave a trial for the dance performance, and to my surprise, I got selected.

When my teacher told me that I had been chosen as the main lead dancer, I felt a mixture of emotions at the same time. I had never led a group before, and I kept wondering if I would be able to remember all the steps. Our practice started in school first. Every day, after classes, we would gather in the assembly area and practise. My teacher guided me with a lot of patience. She corrected my steps gently and encouraged me even though I made mistakes. Her words gave me confidence and comfort. At home too, I practised daily. I stood in front of the mirror, repeated the expressions, checked my hand movements, and tried to make each step look perfect. Sometimes I felt tired, and sometimes I felt scared that I might forget everything on the final day. But each time, I reminded myself that I had worked very hard and that my teachers believed in me. Slowly, practising in front of the mirror became something I enjoyed. I could see myself getting better every day, and that made me smile.

When the day finally arrived, I felt very nervous. My hands were cold, and my heart was beating so fast. Standing backstage, I kept telling myself, “You can do this.” When the music started, and the lights came on, something changed inside me. All my fears disappeared, and I danced with confidence. I could feel the energy of my team, and it made me even stronger. When the performance ended, there was loud applause. I saw my teachers clapping proudly and my friends cheering for me. At that moment, I felt truly happy.

After the event, many teachers and students came to appreciate me. They said the dance looked beautiful and that I had done a wonderful job as the lead. Hearing that made all my hard work worth it. I felt proud of myself, not only because I danced well, but because I faced my fear and enjoyed every part of the journey. Taking part in the 37th Celebration of Excellence taught me that practice, courage, and self-belief can help you achieve anything. I will always remember this experience as one of the happiest moments of my school life.

Children’s Day – A Day I Will Never Forget!

Children’s Day in our school is always full of excitement, but this year it felt even more special. The decorations were colourful, everyone was smiling, and all the performances—from the little ones to the seniors—filled the day with joy. It was a beautiful celebration of childhood, fun, and learning. But for me, this Children’s Day became unforgettable for a very different reason. It was the first time I, a boy from Class 5, was chosen to deliver the Vote of Thanks in front of the whole school. A week before the event, my class teacher, Mr. Aryan, called me after the morning assembly and told me that he believed I could do it. He said I spoke well and that he trusted me. Hearing that made me both excited and nervous, but his confidence in me gave me courage. He handed me the script and promised that he would help me prepare.

That whole week, I practised everywhere—during break, at home, with my parents, and especially in front of the mirror. I would stand straight, hold a paper in my hand, and repeat the lines again and again until I could say them without looking. Every improvement reminded me of my teacher’s motivating words, “You can do this,” and that made me try even harder. When the big day arrived, I enjoyed watching the performances, but deep inside, I was nervous. My hands felt cold, and I kept whispering the lines to myself. When my name was finally announced, my heart thumped loudly, and for a moment, I feared I might forget everything. Just then, I felt a reassuring hand on my shoulder—it was Mr. Aryan. He quietly told me, “You have worked hard. Just speak from your heart. I’m right here.” His words calmed me instantly.

I walked up to the podium, took a deep breath, and looked at the huge gathering of teachers and students. To my surprise, the words flowed smoothly. Each line came out clearly, and I felt myself growing more confident with every sentence. When I finished, the applause echoed loudly in the hall. My classmates were cheering, and my teacher was smiling proudly from the side. At that moment, I felt the joy of overcoming fear and achieving something new. This Children’s Day taught me that hard work pays off, believing in yourself matters, and a teacher’s trust can make all the difference. It will always remain a day I will cherish forever.

The Mānn School – A Home of Learning and Love

My name is Divyanshika, and I am proud to be a student of Class IV in this wonderful school.

I joined The Mānn School when I was in Nursery, and since then my amazing journey began. I am blessed with caring teachers, a happy environment, smart classrooms, and great facilities that help us learn and grow.

In our school, every child gets a chance to take part and shine. Our teachers explain every topic clearly, so we understand everything well. We all love and respect our teachers very much.

This year, we started Guided Preparation, which helped us a lot in our studies. With our teachers’ support, we learned how to plan our time, understand lessons better, and solve problems confidently.

Our teachers always encourage us to do our best. They help us whenever we need them. Since both my parents are working, my teachers guide me and support me like a family.

For me, The Mann School is not just a school — it is a beautiful part of my life.

MSFS: Shaping Confident Futures

When teachers step into a classroom, they do not just teach subjects, they prepare lives. But is knowledge alone enough to face the world? The answer is ‘no’. Confidence, grace, and character are equally important. This is where MSFS – MS Finishing School shines as a unique gift to our school community.

MSFS is not about adding ‘extra lessons’, it is about adding the final touch of excellence. Through activities that build communication, social etiquette, grooming, leadership, and emotional intelligence, our students learn to carry themselves with poise in every sphere of life.

Imagine a student who can speak confidently on stage, greet people with courtesy, present themselves with dignity, and handle challenges with calmness, that’s the true vision of MSFS. It ensures that when our learners step beyond school gates, they don’t just carry report cards, but also refinement, readiness, and resilience.

But the impact of MSFS does not stop at students alone. It also gives teachers a mirror of reflection – guiding them on how to carry themselves, how to model the very values they wish to see in their learners, and how to leave a lasting impression on every young mind they teach. In many ways, MSFS is a shared journey of growth, helping both students and teachers walk the path of elegance and purpose together.

What makes MSFS truly unique is its wholeness, it doesn’t teach etiquette in fragments, but in every aspect of life. From how we start our day with positivity, to how we live it with grace, and even how we end it with gratitude – MSFS ensures that each person carries an aura of dignity that makes them, and those around them, feel good.

The true strength of MSFS lies in its vision. And here, we must extend our heartfelt gratitude to our honourable Chairman, whose foresight gave birth to this remarkable initiative. It is his belief that education must go beyond textbooks and prepare individuals, students and teachers alike, for the global stage.

Every session at MSFS echoes his vision, whether it is teaching table etiquette, polishing communication skills, or instilling confidence and compassion. Each of these is a step towards shaping futures that are not only successful, but also graceful and grounded.

As teachers, we feel proud to witness this transformation. And as a school, we feel blessed to have leadership that understands that while academics make a student knowledgeable, it is confidence, courtesy, and character that make a student unforgettable.

At MSFS, we don’t just finish lessons, we continue to shape lives, with gratitude to the vision that made it possible.

The Day I Stole the Show

Hello everyone!

I am Tanika, and I want to share one of the most magical moments of my school life.

It all began one fine morning when our teacher, Mr Arpit Sharma, called me and said, “Tanika, you have to perform in the English Skit Competition 2025.” My eyes sparkled instantly, acting has always been my dream, and this was the opportunity I had been waiting for!

Our skit, titled ‘The Lost Tiara,’ was based on a fascinating folk tale from Sikkim. Under the guidance of our skit in-charges, Ms Bela Shanker and Mr Arpit Sharma, we, a team of 14 students, began rehearsals. Each practice session was filled with energy, creativity, and laughter. I was determined to give my best and make my dream come alive on stage.

Finally, the much-awaited day arrived. When the curtains opened, our team brought The Lost Tiara to life. With every dialogue and expression, I forgot myself and became the character I was portraying. The audience clapped, laughed, and stayed hooked to every moment. I felt like I was flying high, powered by their cheers!

And then came the announcement, out of the three skits performed that day, ours was declared the winner! My happiness knew no bounds. But the biggest surprise was still waiting for me… I was awarded the Best Actor Award!

When I went to receive the certificate, the Principal smiled and said, “I will not allow you in future events.” My heart almost stopped, but then he added, “Because you always steal the show with your performance.” That moment made me feel on top of the world.

Since childhood, I have loved singing, dancing, painting, and above all, acting. This award has given me the confidence to dream bigger and chase my passion to be on stage, telling stories that touch hearts.

A Big Thank You

I want to thank my teachers for guiding me, my 13 teammates for always supporting me, the Headmistress Primary School for motivating me, the Principal for encouraging me, and of course, my parents who cheer for me the most.

It was truly the day I stole the show!

A Letter to My Future Self

Dear Future Me,

I hope this letter finds you well and thriving—living up to the vision I've always hoped you would achieve. Right now, I'm navigating a tough phase, recovering from injuries that have slowed me down both physically and academically. Yet, I’m holding onto hope, believing that with resilience, I will bounce back and reclaim the confidence and abilities I once had.

Today, I realize how much I lean on you, my future self, for strength and reassurance. While sometimes it feels like I should seek support from others, I’m learning that the person I truly need to rely on is myself. You are the person I am building, brick by brick, through every struggle and every small victory.

Life feels challenging at the moment—my performance has dipped, and the path ahead seems daunting. But I trust that if I set the right conditions now, the future will brighten. Remember: success isn’t measured only in money. True success lies in earning respect, staying humble, acting with integrity, and being someone whom others can trust.

Looking back, I used to be a “jack of all trades, but master of none.” I now understand the importance of narrowing my focus. In the future, commit yourself deeply to two or three things that truly matter, while letting other passions be your hobbies. This is how you’ll build expertise, fulfillment, and a meaningful life.

This letter is my promise to you: I am going to invest time and effort into becoming the best version of myself. Please, do not let this hard work go in vain. Honor my determination and the sacrifices I’m making now by continuing to grow, stay true to your values, and never lose sight of kindness and humility.

I may be out of words for now, but I’m leaving you with my trust and hope. Make me proud, and keep striving—no matter what comes your way.

With hope and determination,
Your Past Self

Heenam Camdir Teli (VIII A)

The Beauty in Bridging of Two Worlds

In an increasingly interconnected world, international student exchange programs stand as vibrant bridges between diverse cultures, encouraging curiosity, empathy, and collaboration. One such inspiring initiative was the exchange program between The Mann School, Delhi and the partner school Städtisches Gymnasium Gütersloh, Germany.

I was fortunate to be a part of this initiative. When we left India for Germany on 7th May 2025, we stepped into a chapter of our lives that will always hold a special place in our hearts. Through this Cultural Exchange Program, the beauty in bridging of two worlds miles apart, was unfolded and brought out before our eyes in ways we have never expected. It was definitely once in a lifetime opportunity which was not to be missed.

The host families welcomed us with open hearts and made sure that we felt at home. From the very beginning, thoughtfully planned activities awaited us—organized by both the school and our host families.

On our first day of school, we played a Canadian game called Kinball which was new not only to us but also to our German peers. That evening, we were treated to sumptuous dinner having traditional German dishes. We built bonds and grew closer to one another over the dinner. The three-day visit to Berlin was marked with chilly and windy weather. But that did not dampen our spirits. We visited the remnants of the historic Berlin Wall about which we had read previously in our history books. Riding a double-decker bus through the city and experiencing the workings of the Reichstag Parliament Building gave us a first-hand understanding of German history and governance.

The beautiful medical city of Münster is a place which speaks for itself. One of its highlights is St. Lambert’s Church which has three iron cages suspended from the steeple. Another highlight was our visit to CLAAS, the world’s largest producer of harvesting machines. Touring the factory and learning about its innovative production process broadened our understanding of engineering and modern technology. Meeting the Mayor of Gütersloh at the Rathaus (Town Hall) was another cherished moment, where we were introduced to a presentation showcasing the growth, development, and cultural richness of the city.

As the exchange drew to its close, we shared a final dinner-a fusion of both Indian and German dishes prepared by groups formed amongst us. A lot of leisure activities such as shopping, strawberry picking, solving puzzles and inter-cultural workshops created a strong bond between us.

We returned to India on 23rd May 2025, our hearts full and our minds richer—with warm hugs, heartfelt goodbyes, and dreams for the future as we each go our separate ways.

Though the days have passed, the laughter, the inside jokes, and the memories live on. The photographs are the strong reminder of the time well spent. We forged friendships for life, bridging the gap between two distinct worlds. We immersed ourselves in new cultures, embraced different ways of life, and returned with stories we’ll continue to share for years to come.

Summer Days: A Student’s Reflection

What a wonderful time of the year summer is! The joy of stepping outside, playing with friends, and simply spending time together creates some of the happiest memories. There’s something magical about exploring new places—the very thought of it fills me with excitement and energy.

Summer is the season we all wish would come again and again. It’s the perfect time for fun activities like camping, family picnics, gardening, cooking, swimming—the list is endless! Just last week, I attended a dinner with all my school friends, and it was absolutely amazing. We laughed, talked, and made memories that I’ll cherish for a long time.

Of course, summer isn’t all play. The ever-present summer homework patiently waits to be completed. As much as I wish I could escape it, I know it must be done! So here’s a little advice: don’t forget to spend quality time with your family and friends, but also make sure you stay on top of your work—or prepare for a few scoldings!

This break has also been a time for rejuvenation. As a Class 12 student, this is the only long pause in a very important academic year. It gave me the much-needed space to reflect, recharge, and prepare myself mentally for the challenges ahead. Now, I feel refreshed and ready to return, motivated to make the most of my final year and give it my best shot.

Most importantly, remember to rest. Summer is a time to relax, to grow, and to explore new things at your own pace. As the school gates reopen, I carry not only the memories of a joyful break but also the lessons and inspiration of a summer well spent.

Five Timeless Principles for a Happy Life

Happiness often lies in simplicity. When we stop overthinking and learn to accept life as it is, we begin to notice its quiet beauty. In slowing down and letting go of constant control, we find peace in everyday moments and a renewed appreciation for the present.

Generosity is another powerful key to fulfilling life. When we are generous with our thoughts, actions and possessions, we not only uplift others but also create a more positive and compassionate space for ourselves. Giving—whether it is time, kindness, or support—strengthens our sense of connection and reminds us of our shared humanity.

Life also follows the law of karma: what we think, say and do eventually return to us in some form. This simple yet profound truth encourages us to act with awareness and integrity. When we live mindfully, we not only shape our own experiences but also contribute positively to the world around us.

Equally important is learning to live in harmony with the natural flow of life, which is often referred to as the Tao. When we resist or try to force outcomes, we create unnecessary tension. However, when we trust the process and allow life to unfold, we experience greater ease and clarity. Letting go does not mean giving up—it means moving with life rather than against it.

Finally, cultivating a positive mindset helps us navigate life’s challenges with strength and grace. Positivity does not mean ignoring hardship; it means choosing to remain hopeful, resilient and open-hearted even despite adversity. With a positive outlook, we are better equipped to discover meaning in difficult times and joy in simple ones.

These five timeless principles—simplicity, generosity, mindful action, going with the flow and positivity—offer a foundation for a truly happy and meaningful life. When practiced daily, they guide us gently toward peace, purpose, and lasting fulfillment.
