The festival of Christmas is celebrated worldwide religiously on 25th December every year, particularly by Christians, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born in Bethlehem to Mother Mary and Father Joseph.
On this special occasion, families and friends celebrate the festivity while getting along together and preparing Christmas delicacies such as Plum-cake, Rum-cake, the Turkey and the luxurious white wines, to name a few. People around the world enthusiastically, start making arrangements for the celebration well before a month in advance with great sense of new hopes and aspirations.
Weeks before the merriment, volunteers from Churches visit people and their houses while singing Christmas carols, dancing and distributing sweets all the way. People decorate their houses with hanging lights, candles, bells, flowers and glittering stars. They put up a tinseled Christmas tree that ranges from varieties of spruce or fir trees.
On the Christmas Eve, donning new clothes, people assemble in Churches for the midnight mass, and the children eagerly wait for the Santa Claus to offer a gift of their choice which they would receive the next morning.
People visit their relatives and friends to wish them on Christmas Day and enjoy a feast throughout the week.
This festival encourages us to make merry and always be happy.
It also teaches us that the light and the blessings of the Almighty always guard us, and we must never lose hope.
May this Christmas wash away all the miseries of the world...!
With this assenting sanguinity, I pray for a better tomorrow and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
