THE MANTRA OF SUCCESS: SELF-CONFIDENCE

All of us want to be successful in life. However, only some among us are able to relish the sweet fruits of success. Why it is that success eludes some of us? The answer to this lies in the fact that most of us are not able to utilize the potential strength in us. We can realize our strength only if we have the right attitude, positive thinking and firm faith in ourselves. For being successful, we need to have confidence in ourselves. The very first step in climbing the ladder of self-confidence is firm conviction about one’s own ability. People who underestimate themselves do not accept challenges and responsibilities and thus lose wonderful opportunities in life. We should not doubt our inner strength and have a positive attitude. Failures should not deter us for they are the beauty of life.

The next step to develop self-confidence is perseverance. As Thomas Elva Edison says, “Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration”.
One must possess tremendous will power and self-respect to succeed.
Finally a definite goal and one-pointed concentration help us to manifest tremendous confidence. As Swami Vivekananda said, “Take up one idea, make that idea your life; think of it, a dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea alone. This is the way to success.”

Self-trust is the first secret of success.

MESSAGE BEHIND GREETING

Today I am going to share a very interesting and valuable knowledge. Before that tell me one thing if our hands are tied together, can we fight with anyone? The answer is NO. Here I am going to share your meaning of types of wishing in a different culture with their purpose.

Whenever we meet anyone, stranger or known, in Hindu we join our hands and say "Namaste”, in Muslim we say “As-Salam- u - Alaikum", in Sikh we say "SatSriAkaal l "and   in Christians, we shake hands and greet each other.

In all types of wishing, styles are different but one thing is common. In all ways of greetings, we expose our hands to the other person with a smiling face.

The styles are different in all religions but the message is ONE that I am here with a message of PEACE and not FIGHT. Because as we shared earlier also that with joined or tied hands we cannot fight. And while wishing we offer ourselves our hands.

Similarly, there is another way of giving respect to seniors is, touching their feet. Friends the best part of our human structure is HEAD. Whenever we go out we comb our hairs and wash our face. And on the other hand, our feet touch the earth and goes in all dirt on the earth.

So whenever we touch our senior’s feet, we convey him/her the message that He or She is so respectable that, my best part i.e. my HEAD, is equal to their last or dirty part i.e. their feet.

So whenever we meet others, we should greet them with positive energy which helps to make a positive and peaceful environment.

Dealing WITH anxiety and REDUCING STRESS

As we go about our lives, we’re constantly weighing up situations and deciding
what we think about them: good or bad, safe or unsafe etc. How we interpret a
situation influences how we feel about it. If we think a situation means ‘you are
in danger’, we feel afraid. If it means ‘you have been wronged’, we feel angry.
And these feelings determine how we react to the situation. We translate
meanings into feelings very fast. With anger, that speed sometimes means that
we react in ways we later regret.

How do our bodies respond to anger?

“My heart was racing,
I was physically tense,
I was gob smacked.”

Anger is an emotional state and aggression is just one of the ways that people
behave when they are angry. Aggressive behaviour can be physical or verbal and
gives the signal that someone intends to cause harm. It can mean people become
violent towards others or throw things. Aggression often takes over when people
act on their instinct to protect themselves or others.

When you feel the first surge of anger boiling up inside you, pause for
a moment. Think about what has made you angry, think about the
consequences of exploding in a rage and then choose how to respond.
HOW CAN WE CONTROL OUR ANGER?

1. Count to ten before you act.

2. Drop your shoulders and breathe deeply to help you relax – your instincts
may be telling your body to get ready to fight, but your rational self can
reverse this message by telling your body to chill out.

3. If you feel the urge to throw something or hit out, remove yourself from the
situation and try taking it out on something soft like a cushion that you
won’t damage and which won’t hurt you.

4.Try screaming if it won’t disturb people near you or scream into a pillow to
 release your tension.

5. Talk yourself down – imagine what your
calmest friend would say to you and give
yourself the same advice.

 6. Imagine yourself in a relaxing scene
.
7. Distract yourself or take yourself out of
the situation that made you angry - read a
magazine, do a crossword, listen to
soothing music, go for a walk.

8. Pour out how you feel in writing or redirect
your energy into another creative activity.

9. Off load to a friend who will help you get
perspective on the situation.

10. Work off your anger through exercise –

HOLD YOUR TONGUE!!!!

Oops!!! Holding tongue is a damn crazy, absolutely weird and wild idea, but I really mean it when I say so. Tongue; a delicate organ of our body never feels fatigue; keeps pouring words off and on, whether asked to do so or not…. Its ever ready. Has it ever pondered upon what does it say? Or thinking perhaps is not its cup of tea. Who then has to take charge of the thinking business… Perhaps the supreme power in the body- the mighty BRAIN. But does it do its job fruitfully on many occasions… I have no clues.
Have we ever waited to contemplate and realise that words have life and also has the power to ruin  lives. They as spear can pierce  someone inside out giving them deep wounds and letting the soul bleed profusely…. Ironically the stains are not visible. The damage is catastrophic. Every inch of dignity gets ruined and left over is nothing but remains of respect worn and torn out.
Amazing!!! Realization is yet nullified.
Human beings; a social animal, brainy, supremely talented doesn’t ever bother being judgemental no matter what consequences it would bring in to others lives…. How  easily it switches to a  GOSSIP MODE to discuss someone’s else’s life… prepare a gossip gang,  which has nothing to do except cooking stories about others and adding spices to it. They are sly; like termites make every relation hollow, be it at workstation or at home. They are always proactive in searching issues to discuss.
Shouldn’t they invest their time in doing something concrete so that they can be an asset to others. It is easy to spread rumours, but difficult to understand that rumours spread faster than fire. It can bring disaster. History ask you to peep in and see the devastation caused to nations due to rumours and manipulations.
Why can’t we mind our own business? Why can’t we resist ourselves from the tempt of interfering in private matters of others. Why do we find comfort in unwanted time-consuming discussions? Why can’t we polish our skills and shine? We must understand that rumours about others not only defame them, but also take away their peace of mind. There is no good way to fight them. They are nowhere, and everywhere.
Its high time when we should look around and find out the GOSSIP GEESE around us. Try keeping a distance or walk away. Else practice holding your tongue because even a light nod in the conversation results your participation in the gossip. Invest your time in reading good literature or being in the company of someone who can hold your hand and take you on the right path of life.
Undoubtedly, it would be difficult quitting the addiction of gossip initially,  but practice makes a man perfect.
So, HOLD YOUR TONGUE and think before you cross your boundaries to intervene in others affairs because you are brutally stabbing the dagger in one’s back and that’s not at all HUMANE.

Role Reversal

Relationship between students and teacher is long-lasting and it becomes more strong when students get mature and start realizing the role of their school teachers in framing their future. No matter, they have excellent professors in their college and university but the love and care of their school teachers always remain fresh in their mind and heart and whenever they get opportunities to do something for their teachers, they feel very happy and try to do everything possible which they can.

Manjeet Singh Meena, House Vyas, batch, 2015-16 was a very shy boy up to class 10 but when he opted commerce in class 11, he was determined to do something very good in his life, he not only cleared 12th with flying colors but also made his place in SRCC, today he is a commerce graduate and planning to appear in UPSC IFS exam.

Why I am mentioning his name here,  there is a reason for it, which shows the responsible youth of today who were groomed nicely in their school age, now ready to play them constructive role in society with sincerity.

Recently when he visited school, he felt so happy to see the progress and promised to help his juniors in whatever best way he can. From that day, he took it as his moral responsibility to update me with all inputs of DU admissions, with this timely information I am able to guide my present outgoing batch correctly, I can depend on Manjeet, because he gives me all the latest information and helps me in solving queries of my students.

Now Role has reversed between me and him, now on many aspects, he makes me familiar with changes and new rules.

I feel proud to be his teacher and he is my proud student.

LIFE IN A BOARDING SCHOOL - AN EMOTIONAL TOUCH

When a student’s eyes look for your presence in a hope that you will ask for his day’s activities, enquire about what he ate, how many marks did he or she score in a test and many more such questions, establish a strong connection between you and your student as a teacher. This gives you the wholesome feeling that you are in the holy process of making a human being the way he or she should be. Engineers and scientists are proud of their technological advancements and inventions, doctors boast of the medical advancement but we, the teachers humbly get satisfaction in grooming a student as a good human being who will do all good things in favor of mankind. The students are aimed for overall personality development with discipline, knowledge, and patriotism. Manners and etiquettes practiced by students in the school become an integral part of their lives in a boarding school and elsewhere in the outside world. I would suggest all the parents opt for a day boarding school for the overall development of their child since it really makes a child self-dependent in respect and in all the aspects of life. Some of the main advantages are-

Self-reliance

Boarding school students quickly learn how to perform many domestic chores and complete school assignments by themselves. They become experts at managing their time, money and resources. These students mature quickly and tend to be very independent and successful in college and life.

Fewer Distractions

Boarding school students can focus better on their studies because television, video games, phones, and other distractors are limited. These young scholars usually perform better academically because they live in an environment that is conducive to learning.

Cultural Diversity

Boarding school students live and attend classes with people from a variety of cultures; therefore, they learn to appreciate and respect the differences in one another and live amicably. Some may even learn the basics of another language as a result of the friendships they form.

Character building

Boarding school students are known to graduate with exceptional character and demeanor. They reside in a community where traits such as honesty, respect, and hard work are valued and emphasized. These pupils have a moral advantage.

Alternative Activities

Boarding school students are often exposed to a wider range of activities to broaden their learning. They may participate in common sports and activities, such as football and band, or less conventional ones, such as Horse Riding, martial art, etc.

Fluency in Another Language

Students whose first language is not English often become fluent in English in two semesters through language immersion. Those who stay in a boarding school for at least three years typically become bilingual as they can read, write and speak two languages.

Bilingual students possess a valuable skill that gives them a significant advantage in the domestic and international workforce. Studies have also shown that they generally score higher on standardized tests and demonstrate greater problem-solving skills.

Make Continuous Efforts: Never Ever Give Up!

The world we live in is challenging and demanding. With population growth and increasing costs of resources, every individual is facing pressure, be it an employment or self-run business. The pressure is bolstered with the competition we have in modern life. Such competition heavily spurs the requirements life puts to us, therefore to compete successfully we need to excel ourselves. Excelling is only viable when we have a goal and work toward it.

One reason for constant effort on achieving a goal is self-improvement. When you put enough work into something, sooner or later you will benefit from it.   For example, if a person devotes a lot of time into studying a foreign language and does it on a permanent basis, he or she can increase his/her ability to communicate with foreigners or, even, become an expert. In some situations, an ability to use foreign language can have a direct pecuniary effect – business opportunities or higher salary. So, setting a goal like studying a new language and going for it is usually worth an effort put into it.

Another reason for being assiduous is commitment. Being committed to your goal disciplines yourself. If you have a clear vision of what you are aiming at, you can create a step-by-step plan of how to achieve it. Once you envision your way to your goal, you can become a master of your life and create a precise schedule of events and waypoints. Following such schedule can be austere sometimes, but this, in fact, trains your diligence.

So, taking into account that following your goal and working hard to achieve it, definitely improves personal qualities and makes a person more viable in today’s world of rising requirements.
